Dream of Sphinx
In Dream of Sphinx, through the production of sculpture models, the application of GIF stop- motion animation and the post-production software, a non-story-like and mysterious video work has been created, thereby expressing the artist’s own interpretations of his dreams. He collects interesting sounds from the Internet or from real life, then rewrites and pieces them together; playing the sounds and images in a continuous loop one after another, they create different feelings each time, achieving a non-linear and non-cyclical effect—the same effect as π.

Liu Peng is good at experimentally exploring various artistic methods to create freely, from the exploration of the possibilities of installation art in creating animation lms at an early stage, to his current search for the combination of various computer software technologies as well as art forms like performances in video works, and to the current stage that brings theater art and experimental animation into his own art creation, which presents a performance stage, with the body as the scene, with that touch of absurd drama. These numerous processes of artistic experimentation provide Liu's works with various forms of expression, with that tendency to re-create original works in different environments and different contexts! What’s more, his creation is not limited to a certain space or in uenced by the relation between himself and the space. Everything and everyone are his targets for artistic experimentation.
