气球 Balloon
5'49"
The work Balloon : the upper body is a balloon, representing love. This work tells a love story based on that.

On The Line
4'15"
The series On The Line is a group of works that includes a short animation lm and a animation video installation. For On The Line, in addition to its literal meaning (telephone networks and so forth) meaning “online”, another explanation could be the feeling of life hanging by a line, by a thread. The works feature interpersonal relationships. In a world that values the “social” so much, I see people around me drinking and gambling in large groups, and wandering between various circles. It is like pulling on an invisible line all the time, and then pulling out one’s own heart. I’m not saying it’s wrong or bad, only that I don’t think that seed hidden at the bottom of the heart could bloom only by frequenting places full of celebrities.

Kang is a hard-working, warm individual, nding her own path through life. Her dedication to her art is evident in the number of screenings, exhibitions and competitions she has participated in while studying and since graduation, in the Czech Republic, Greece, the U.K, Spain, Romania, the U.S.A, etc. She has been building momentum of late, and is just on the cusp of nding her feet as a professional artist, and looks to have a bright future ahead. I can wholeheartedly recommend Kang’s works, Balloon and On The Line. Her drawing skills are exceptional, and she has developed a distinctive style that acts to unify all of her creative works. Through animation, she has given life to numerous characters, telling stories that speak of love, loss and humanity. However, it is not only a want to express something, some ideas or feelings that drives Kang to create. I believe it is a deeper-rooted desire for connection that is at the heart of every artwork she makes. And indeed what in this world could be more important than human connection? This is what gives her works that extra something that is difficult to put into words, but something that is universal. In this era of globalization, art that crosses social, cultural, gender and national boundaries has never been more crucial.
I am eager to see the progress Kang takes over the coming years, and hope you can support her in achieving her goals.

Thanks to a strict reduction to black and white and outlines, the movements in this works are uid and seamless. Persons are equipped with circles, which protect and limit them, which connect them to others or trap and threaten them. Wonderfully windy foley supports the subtle interaction and ambivalent story line, which opens plenty of space for individual connotations and personal interpretations.
